Fujifilm South Africa is proud to announce Emmanuel Ojo-Aromokundu as the latest X-Photographer to join the team. Better known as Emmy, he originally hails from Nigeria and came to South Africa to study engineering. While working with the media team at his church, he picked up a camera to help film sermons on Sundays. As we know, once the bug bites, it bites hard, and Emmy got himself a compact camera and climbed on the internet to learn the art of photography.
Award winning wildlife photographer and Fujifilm X-Photographer, Peter Delaney took the new Fujinon XF200mmF2 on safari. It proved to be an instant classic.
The idea of doing a photo-based video came from myself and Liam Lynch collaborating on a photo exhibition dealing with the 3month period around Fokofpolisiekar's recording of ‘Droom Hoog’. The band released our first full-length album in 10 years, titled Selfmedikasie, last year so the last thing fans would’ve expected was another short release so quickly afterwards. The album was written and recorded in 3 weeks as everyone involved in this band have various other musical projects and commitments.
I’ve always been drawn to stories. Alice in wonderland has always been a favourite of mine. I used to curl with the book under the covers for many a night as a little girl. In 2002 I received my first camera as a gift and was drawn to the idea that I could continue creating and capturing visual stories through the looking glass of my camera.
I got my First camera at age 6, yes, i really screwed up a lot of film back then. but slowly started to figure things out. Im a self taught Photographer and learned a lot of lessons the hard way and had to fight through the frustrations of "not getting what I want" in the shots. It's a long and hard when you only have 24 or 36 frames to work with every 2 months.
